TL;DR This deck features the colossus of both yellow (Dasher) and green (Fatso). It is basically a land generation + event synergy deck which tries to reach its late game potential as fast as possible while still maintaining a decent mid-game via mobility, minor buffs, and faeria generation.
Creatures: 17 (2 neutral, 12 green, 3 yellow)
Events: 13 (7 green, 6 yellow)
Memoria Cost: 690 (6 commons, 21 rares, 3 epics)
CARDS EXPLANATION:
Green and Yellow Colossus - these are your late game buddies that you can use to end game. But because of their fighting capability, they can also be used defensively - though not ideally - when in a pinch. Yellow Colossus can be quickly setup in front of your opponent’s face with its Dash ability, and is easily discounted by the numerous events in the deck. Green Colossus meanwhile is quickly discounted by all the various ways you can generate special land. Green Colossus is also a great target for Feed the Forest when fully discounted already.
Earthcraft, Wild Growth, Wood Elemental - your main ways to accelerate land generation to discount Green Colossus as well as grow your Everbloom Wisp. Earthcraft and Wild Growth also have event synergy with Yellow Colossus, while Earthcraft provides you with a bit of card draw as well.
Everbloom Wisp - Has great synergy with your land generation cards. Unless you have Wild Growth or Earthcraft in hand, avoid dropping Wisp on the turn that you make your 2nd forest as it is vulnerable to soft removal (Soul Drain, Seifer’s Wrath). Makes for a decent midgame fighting creature and early collector. With Khalim’s Training and Flash Wind, this can surprise your opponent late game, thus forcing your opponent to probably commit a hard removal on it instead of on your colossi.
Living Willow, Feed the Forest - Living willow is a great early harvester, defender, and target for Feed. Feed also provides additional card draw, as well as discounts your Yellow Colossus.
Flash Wind, Khalim’s Training - these are here for the obvious event synergy with Yellow Colossus. Good targets for Khalim’s Training are your Wisps, your Collosi, or even the living Willow to make it into a sturdy double collector. Flash Wind of course just gives you that extra movement trick to outmaneuver your opponent’s defense.
Court Jester, Sagami Grovecaller - I just teched these in as per my preference. Court Jester is another great early harvester, but more than that almost all your other creatures are great targets for its buffs. I didn’t have Deepwood Stalker at the time, but I guess you could swap these 3 with 3 Stalkers.
MULLIGAN:
Always look for any of Living Willow, Everbloom Wisp, Wood Elemental, or Court Jester. If you have Wisp, you can keep any of Earth Craft or Wild Growth. Always throw away the Colossi or any of the yellow cards.
GAME FLOW:
I usually play this as a control deck. In the early game, quickly establish your 2 side collectors ASAP. If you get Wisps early, work towards having them become really big so they can contest the board. For every Wisp you have on board, you theoretically gain a return of 1F worth for every forest you make. Almost always build forests over deserts, unless you drew into a lot of yellow cards.
In the mid-game, focus on building up land on one side. When you decided to play Wild Growth on your turn, play it first before creating a forest from the Power Wheel so you can better evaluate where to create the forest. You can also slowly move up your Wisps as they become bigger and bigger. Also try to contest the wells on side that you are building up towards. As a quick sidenote, try to position deserts such that you can dash your Yellow Colossus into an aggressive spot from it.
Feel free to drop your discounted colossi aggressively when you feel you can push the tempo with them. Even if they are 2 tiles away from your opponent’s orb, you hopefully still have some movement tricks to get them to hit face.
You can also drop your colossi defensively when on the back foot since they make great defenders but can also potentially go back on the offensive with Khalim’s Training and/or Grovecaller.
When possible, do maximum BM by last hitting with your Khalim’s Training buffed Court Jester :SeemsGood:
Enjoy!
