A more refined version of Flying Soulbears.

This is essentially a combo deck with a lot of available combos, which looks to control the board while waiting to draw into a win. It can have some very early rush-style wins, with the right draw…but the initial rush usually turns into a feint against more experienced players. In those cases, bide your time and wait for a killer combo.

The central goal is to get the full value out of Soulbound Sagami by making it integral to winning combos, while maximizing the chances of making good use of the Sagami as a harvester, attacker, and sacrifice.

The mobility in the deck gives you lots of opportunities to attack well with the Sagami while keeping it safe, while also setting up a lot of deadly sudden kills with Ursus/Khalim/Lord of the Wastes.

The global damage in the deck helps control small threats and clear the board while looking for a killer combo, and pairs well with sacrifice mechanics and high health that the Sagami gives you. It also powers up your bears.

Eredon is a nice addition, because he can make a fine sacrifice target, can serve as a harvester/back-up sagami target, and because he helps your bears get to the magic number of 5 damage. An ursus with 5 damage just needs 2 damage sources to take it to 20. It’s not the only way to use them, but it is a good number to aim for. Combos that get your bear to 5 include Grovecaller+Eradon and Grovecaller+Khalim’s training, which also gives you tons of maneuverability. The 5 extra health from the Grovecaller also increases the chance that your bears will survive to lethal, even if that’s the only bonus they get.

The Soulbound Sagami also pairs well with Lord of the Wastes (2 turn lethal, 10-8) and Shaytan Assassin (4-6 shielded deathtoucher, to help clear obstructions or protect against large health creatures in a pinch…also taking it out of Emperor’s Command Range). These sacrifice creatures can also trigger your Plague Bearers, helping you set up a lethal bear combo.

The fanatics give mobility, and serve as a possible Sagami target (6/7 jump isn’t bad) and sacrifice target.

Lots of fun to play. This is a very thinky deck that can give you some really fun wins. Most turns involve interesting choices. It isn’t always about a bear to the face. But when it is, it just feels so right.

Keepers: Eradon, Khalim, Ursus, Soulbound. Khalim’s training, esp with a harvester. Typical opening involves two forests with a harvester, then deserts next to wells. This sets up fanatics/khalim for double harvests, and also facilitates double harvests w/the training.
