Load down the value train, and drive it on to victory.
This is a little more controlling than most Crackthorn lists I’m aware of (Not that I’m aware of all Crackthorn lists). Still, build up one side, work towards Crackthorn lands, and play value cards.
Mulligan for some combination of Jester/Path to Paradise and Rakoan Reveler/Deepwood Stalker. Handbuffed Stalkers and buffed-at-all Revelers are cheap ways to make really strong early game value plays. You want Jesters early when you can be more sure of what they’ll be buffing, and when you can reliably expect them to collect a few times.
Likewise, buffing a Reveler with a Salamander is a huge deal, and having a five or so mana reveler trade with a big opposing creature often provides the faeria-boost you need to lay down that lategame Crackthorn for the win.
Feral Kodama, especially buffed Feral Kodama, is basically impossible to race. Rush decks pretty much have to kill it or lose. Use this to your advantage: Putting a Kodama in the face of a rush deck often means they start blowing their very limited removal, or that they start making bad trades for like three cards. If your opponent blows two Soul Drains and a Windstorm Soldier at your handbuffed Feral Kodama because they just lose otherwise, you’re still putting yourself in a great position.
Don’t feel obligated to build towards the eight for Sky Whale if it isn’t in your hand. Getting up to just seven, so you can throw down the last land and play it if necessary, is all you usually need, and not a high priority.
