An “in queue” status in the friend list will be cool because if we want to spectate them, we don’t jump in a game when we see the “in queue” status.

I think I understand what you are saying. So display if a friend is searching for a game, so you don’t try to spectate them when they are still looking? I think it’s a good idea 
I think he/she meant that if you wanted to watch someone play but not sure if they are going to, so you don’t really know whether to start searching for a game yourself or not. If the status shows in queue, then the spectator would know to wait for game to start, rather than waiting for a game that may not eventuate for a long time.
