Mulligan for Outland Ranger, Maceman, or Unlikely Hero.
Starting first, drop a forest in front of orb. Starting second, choose a side, Forest and Explore into a cheap neutral collector.
Against rush, standard defensive setup with forests next to orb. With two forests, you can Shamanic Dance any of your creatures until you have a third forest for Grove Guardian. You also have tons of heal with Ruunin’s Guidance and Gaea’s Grace. Once you stabilize, use Syland Horsemaster to race your bulky creatures up to your opponent’s orb.
Against midrange or control, race up the opposite side of your opponent with double neutrals, then be ready to drop a couple of solid threats by their well (Verduran Force, Maceman, Unlikely Hero (with pre-buff if you’re facing red). You can generally out-race Red Combat and RY Burn, since your buffs on multiple creatures can overwhelm their orb quickly (plus, you can heal in a pinch).
Against mono-blue, drop forest in front of orb, then double neutral into rush. Be ready for Frogify, so don’t overbuff any creatures. Wait for the right hand, then drop several evenly powerful threats, so you’ll still maintain offensive pressure after one of them is Frogified.
If you’re up against red or yellow, make sure you pre-buff Sharra out of range of Flame Burst, double Seifer’s Wrath, double Soul Drain, and Wind Soldier. A neat and immensely satisfying trick is to buff an enemy creature above 3 attack so that Sharra can clear them without taking damage.
