Draw/Mana (x3): playing a single Lore Thief as the “third Forbidden Library” - the Library is an interesting card as you really want one on turn 3 or 4, but you never want 2 in play… so this is the best alternative I have found

Defence (x7): Hold the Line! and Frogify is your to-go defense and stalling tools against rush decks on one side and big threat on the other. However, Frogify can be saved for really crucial moment as this deck packs quite some big creatures and you can definitely go toe-to-toe with traditionnal green fatties no problem  the lone Shimmering Statue has proven to be absolutely great with Forbidden Library and as a last stand one-turn stall next to your dome.

Board Control (x14): Battle Toads, Water Elemental, Gabrian Noble and finally the single Ninja Toad makes up for one third of the deck meant to control the faeria well and accumulate as much mana as possible while lowering the mana cost of the Colossus. Mirror Phantasm and Aurora are absolute beasts in terms of board control and good trades. Finally Aurora’s Creation is a good one-of to duplicate any relevent “best card” on the board at the time, the three Legendary cards being obvious great targets, but sometimes Mirror Phantasm, Gabrian Noble or even Ninja Toad can be duplicated to victory.

Finisher (x6): Baeru and Dream Weaver are the finisher or choice in this deck, can be cast quite easily and can wreck on the opponent’s life in no time. Radiance is a nice back up heal with Forbidden Library, as well as a cute OTK with Dream Reaver, but the “combo” is not the aime of the deck at all don’t be fooled trying too hard; it is far from necessary to go for the OTK  Wavecrash Colossus are just ghetto Verduran Forces, the mana reduction is actually not necessary to play them, just a nice bonus, but sometimes a big vanilla 7/7 robot is the correct solution to a given problem, so you need them both

Land Placement: absolutely try to completely control one side and put a lot of pressure on it, it is very tempting to go “control” and go farm at your two wells but this is detrimental to Gabrian Noble and the whole strategy of the deck. You need to force your opponent on one side so your fish can be placed strategically on the other side with the 4/4 body helping keep control of the “land-side”. Obviously this is a very Lake-hungry deck and you should be placing lakes almost every turn until you have 7, but remember you’re a “long-range” deck, almost control, and if you see the opponent rushing, you NEED to block his/her land placement with some prairies and some turtling up around your dome for defence.

Playstyle: apply pressure on one side, and try to always generate more Faeria per Turn than your opponent at all times, your big cards will be stronger than your opponent’s. Dream Reaver can -and should- be used to heal yourself, never underestimate that. Also, it is NOT a combo deck, if you try to play cute with Dream Reaver, Radiance, etc. you will lose, your wins will be slow and hard fought, not explosive OTK.

Why play the deck? It is a deck with no impossible match-up, and no easy match-up. Which means if you’re willing to put the effort to actually concentrate and play through all your games, you can do Win Streaks and rank up. However there will be no bye, all games are difficult
