I made this deck for a specific duel against Hoaka ( http://imgur.com/a/Upptc ). Not an ideal deck but worked for me after the second try. (Not counting endless times before with my “normal” decks)
!! The legendaries are not a must !!
This is my first time posting a deck online, any critique is welcome.
Mulligan:
You need to reach a 3-Well-Spot on the board as fast as possible. Since you alway go second, you got 5 Faeria available and can set a tile for free. Search for Fortune Hunter, Flame Spitter or Fire Elemental to play on turn 1. If you have to start without one of them, surrender.
Early/Middle Game:
Try to get hold of the right corner and the middle, but also keep your orb secure.
Hoaka will often jump over the wells to drop a lake left infront of your orb.
Your goal is to hold him at 2 main chokepoints: The middle and the right border.
Try high HP cards against his small minions, best case would be him attacking twice into that minion.
Use Queen’s Assasin to deal with his big drops like Walking Fortress, if not available, use any high ATK card. Remember: You want to survive for now.
Lategame: If you hold him off long enough you will get to a point where his half of the board is full with minions, whereas yours probably has 3 minions at its best.
This is where your board-damage cards come into fruition:
Use Groundshaker, Hellfire or (best case) Firestorm to clear his side.
Once you clear some of his cards he will probably loose a lot of steam since he can’t collect as much faeria as before.
Move in and kill him.
Concerning my card choices:
I don’t own every card 3 times so I picked the best cards I had and filled in the rest. I want to show you the general idea how I beat him, you will probably have to fill in the blanks. Please don’t craft any cards just for this quest!
