Faeria Friday: Ships in the sky

All hands on deck! We’re cruising all ahead flank in preparation for reaching the Pirate’s Aerie next Tuesday.

Ships in the sky

The floating islands of the Oversky tend to move around in relation to one another. This ever-shifting celestial geography means what we see right now is not how the islands looked even 50 years ago. Long-standing borders and territories simply don’t work, but the Oversky Towships were created to help move some of the smaller islands around in an attempt to keep things mostly together.

There’s one incontrovertible fact in this world that everyone agrees on: If you have ships, you’re going to have pirates… and if you’re going to have a pirate ship, someone needs to be CAP-10.

Oversky Towship and CAP-10, Sky Pirate can be found in the Pirate’s Aerie next week, which is being released Tuesday, August 29th at 17:00 CEST.

Antoine

We’d like to formally welcome the newest member to the Abrakam development team, Antoine.

Antoine is a software developer that will be helping us work on the Unity client, as well as various aspects of backend architecture. He has been a Faeria player and supporter since even before the Kickstarter campaign under the player name “Smoldersan”, and tells us he is incredibly excited to join the team and take on such a big life changing experience.

You may already know him from the bugs he’s helped recently fix, such as the issue where Vine Wall was putting lands in the wrong place, or when Protection creatures were regaining Protection after popping out of Swallow. He’s also the one who broke Haste creatures and Structures for 45 minutes yesterday, but we don’t hold that against him.

##Game design contest finalists

By now, we have contacted the individuals we have selected as finalists from the Game Design contest and are in the final stage of the processes to bring them into the Abrakam team. We will be ready to announce more specifics within the next two weeks.

We want to earnestly thank every single person who submitted an entry to the Game Design Contest, and were overwhelmed by great entries and passion for designing for Faeria. Unfortunately we simply cannot respond to everyone individually, though you certainly deserve it. Thank you for making it such a tough choice for us.

Monthly Cup XIV Qualifier

The first of two Monthly Cup XIV qualifiers takes place tomorrow, Saturday August 26th at 18:00 CEST. Make sure to check in an hour before!

This Monthly Cup will be very special. With a new set of cards being released weekly, we look forward to seeing the competitive decks players bring to the Pantheon format. Players will need to be on their toes this month and have less time than normal to build what they believe are the best decks. It should be very interesting to watch unfold. Keep an eye out for Faeria streams during the qualifiers!

Season card backs

We’re ready to share the card backs you can earn from Ranked and Pandora play for the August season! The current season ends Monday, September 4th.

Metashaker deck building contest

The Metashaker deck building contest is running weekly in tandem with new Oversky islands.

We know, we’re working on getting Oversky cards on The Hub. Shame on us!
